Payroll Coordinator / Senior Payroll Coordinator (Contract)

Schedule: Onsite
Pay Rate: Up to $31.25/hour
Duration: Temporary contract through the end of the year, with potential extension into January

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Payroll Coordinator or Senior Payroll Coordinator to provide maternity leave coverage for a well-established organization in the construction industry. This position offers an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team environment and receive training before assuming full payroll responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have experience processing high-volume payroll, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. This role requires someone who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting payroll deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for approximately 450 employees across multiple entities.
• Audit payroll data and reconcile timekeeping records to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing and compliance with company policies.
• Complete payroll reporting and maintain payroll records.
• Enter new hire and termination information into payroll systems.
• Assist with certified payroll reporting as needed.
• Communicate with employees regarding payroll and timecard inquiries.
• Support additional payroll administration and data entry functions.

Qualifications

Required

• Experience processing high-volume weekly payroll.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Experience with UKG Payroll.
• Experience with Vista Viewpoint Timekeeping or related timekeeping systems.
• Certified payroll experience (training available for the right candidate).
